Tourism Ministry meets Management of Resorts
Tourism Ministry holds virtual meeting via zoom with the Management of ninety (92) resorts. Minister welcomed the attendees and briefed on the current situation and thanked the managements of the resorts for their continued support and contribution towards recovery from the pandemic. At the meeting, a direct focal was assigned from the Ministry for the resorts to contact in urgent matters and health emergencies.
Minister Mausoom recalled the difficulties faced by each and everyone in the tourism industry and urged the management of resorts to consider re-hiring the employees who were laid off during the pandemic. Further, Minister emphasized the need to make every effort to compensate staff who had struggled to support their families after their unavoidable pay cuts in the most difficult days of the crisis. The Minister gave his assurances to work in close collaboration with the resort managements during the coming days. At the meeting Minister said that he is confident that our vibrant tourism sector will once again thrive through the hard work of trusted employees.
A date is to be confirmed by Ministry for another meeting with the resorts who could not attend the meeting.
