Forum on China-Maldives Tourism Cooperation
The Ministry of Tourism of Maldives, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the Chinese Embassy to the Maldives jointly organized and held the above mentioned one day forum on Tuesday, 3rd July 2018 at Kurumba Maldives. This collaboration aimed to develop the tourism industry of both countries and improve our capacity in provision of the related resources and services. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two countries during the forum. The objectives of the MoU were to explore the features of both countries allocated or recognized for tourism purposes through activities and exchange of information, to improve the quality of services through training and further to that, to enhance tourism safety through the establishment of preventive measures, mechanisms and the creation of awareness. The MoU was signed by Mr. Ahmed Nazeer, Secretary General of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) on behalf of the Maldives. Ms. Sun Guizhen, Secretary General of China Association of Travel Service (CATS) signed on behalf of China. This forum was attended by 100 high level delegates from China and 60 tourism-related representatives from the Maldives.
